A12.3.05.101 Sinus durae matris The Latin precursor contained a genitive complement in which the adjective precedes the noun it modifies, which is not compatible with the rules for Regular Anatomical Terminology. Because the term dura mater is many centuries old, the phrase has been preserved by the insertion of an unbreakable space between the two words.
